Ultrasonic 7 is opgericht in 2002 door King DJ (ook bekend als DJ 4T4 en van 't Hof van Commerce) en Tom Derie (ex-Soapstone). In 2003 en 2004 scoorden ze een reeks hits met hun aanstekelijke mix van house, disco en funk. Het bekendst is wellicht het ondertussen tot klassieker verheven "Lips They Move".

Na de release van het debuutalbum "Ultrasonic 7 Makes You Sweat" kende het project een onderbreking om 5 jaar later terug te keren met meer drive dan ooit tevoren. In de lente van 2011 veroverde de nieuwe single "Work It Out" de speellijsten van Studio Brussel en andere hippe radiostations. Na een festivalzomer met enkele geslaagde liveconcerten is de groep nu klaar met het nieuwe album "Bare Walkin'".

Tom Derie's zang klinkt rauwer dan sushi, King DJ brengt een verfrissend house-geluid met een stevige nadruk op 80's electropop en analoge synthesizers… Dat is anno 2011 het aanstekelijke recept van Ultrasonic 7.
